The Rotary Club of the Weald of Kent Old Bikes & Tools: put them to good use
Staplehurst Parish Council
On 13 April, The Rotary Club of the Weald of Kent will be in Staplehurst to collect your unwanted bicycles and tools so that they can be refurbished and then shipped to Africa. The collections, held in support of the charities Re-Cycle and Tools with a Mission will be held at The Village Centre TN12 0BJ in Staplehurst between 11am and 2pm.
“This is a real win-win-win exercise” says Rotary President, Geoff Haffenden; “You get to declutter. You help the environment by avoiding waste and landfill. Most important, you make a difference in the world. A sewing machine or a set of carpentry tools can help somebody start a business; a bicycle is life-changing for somebody with a 4-hour trip just to get to school or to collect water”
All you have to do is bring your unwanted kit, and Rotary members will take it from you and deliver it to the charities to be refurbished and shipped.
